💙 FEEL GOOD BALTIMORE
Local Teen's Lemonade Stand Raises $5K for Animal Shelter
Twelve-year-old Marcus Williams from Reservoir Hill has turned lemons into love for Baltimore's four-legged friends. What started as a simple summer lemonade stand has raised over $5,000 for BARCS Animal Shelter in just three weeks.
"I saw on the news that BARCS needed help with their AC system," Marcus told us Tuesday. "I love animals, and I figured if people would buy lemonade to stay cool, maybe they'd help keep the dogs and cats cool too."
Marcus's "Lemonade for Paws" stand operates Wednesday through Sunday at the corner of Whitelock and Brookfield. He donates 100% of proceeds to BARCS, and local businesses have started matching donations.
"This young man represents everything good about Baltimore," said BARCS director Jennifer Brause. "His compassion and entrepreneurial spirit are inspiring. The funds will help us complete critical cooling system repairs before the late August heat wave."
Marcus plans to keep the stand open through Labor Day. Stop by for a cup and support a great cause!

Thats a Wrap!
That's your Wednesday lineup, Charm City! Don't forget - it's Maryland Restaurant Week through Sunday. Those prix-fixe menus won't last forever!
Stay cool out there, The Yodeller 🦀
P.S. - Thursday's forecast shows possible afternoon thunderstorms. Perfect excuse to duck into a museum or catch a matinee!
